ABOUT LARYSA
Larysa Shelton — our esteemed Owner Instructor and the highest level of instructor at our studio — has had a lifelong passion for physical activity. From skiing, snowboarding, field hockey, crew, and basketball to Pilates, she has always been actively engaged in various pursuits. However, Pilates has held a special place in Larysa's life since the age of eight, profoundly influencing her lifestyle. At 17 years old, Larysa faced the challenge of chronic pain and fibromyalgia, which forced her to conclude her athletic career.
Despite this setback, Pilates remained a constant in her life, aiding her through her diagnosis. She received her training and ultimate certification at Core Pilates Studios under founder, Tamara Slupchynskyj. She teaches at the Core Burn studios in New York and Connecticut as well as virtually right from her apartment. Larysa's dedication extends beyond teaching; she has actively contributed to the teacher training program at Core Burn Pilates and oversees operations at various locations as part owner. Through her personal journey, she has come to understand the profound connection between the mind and body. Her mission is to instill this belief in all her clients, empowering them to enhance their lives through this transformative practice.
For Larysa, Pilates has not only been a source of strength but also a therapeutic outlet. Her aspiration is to share this enriching experience with as many individuals as possible, helping them discover the physical and mental benefits that Pilates can offer.
